Join us in celebration at the official opening event of Hyphenated Biennial at Footscray Community Arts and The Substation. Over two years in the making, Hyphenated Projects have curated a series of exhibitions across Melbourne’s West from 26 November 2021 to 9 April 2022.
A project about collaborations and conversations between First Nations artists and Asian diasporic artists, the Hyphenated Biennial main exhibition takes place in the galleries of The Substation, where newly commissioned works by Elyas Alavi, Moorina Bonini, Jacinta Keefe, Ellen YG Son, Jenna Lee, Jazz Money, Ashley Perry, Siying Zhou, Talia Smith, Beth Thornber and Sab D’Souza are in dialogue with each other. Hyphenated Biennial: The Threads We Hold Together at Footscray Community Arts gently invites audiences into our collective journeys since 2020, with reflections, conversations and provocations.
We warmly invite you to join us for Welcome to Country at Footscray Community Arts, with a [KPOP IN PUBLIC] style performance by Omni Dance Crew, and then move to The Substation for the main exhibition and socials.
